Here are some of my favorite links to information about Suicide Awareness, Intervention, and Prevention. We have to speak out about suicide so maybe one person will see and realize that suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem.
In order to keep Brittany's spirit alive, I am beginning my journey into raising awareness about suicide, especially teen suicide. I have been researching organizations and have found many that are wonderful and full of valuable information. There is also a lot of information on how to help survivors of suicide. I will update links when I find valuable information.
MY FAVORITE SITES
Parents of Suicide
http://www.parentsofsuicide.com/
A website with mini-memorials of member's children lost to suicide. A lot of information and stories about parents who lost children to suicide. The site also has an on-line support group which can be a lifesaver to any parent who have lost a child to suicide. They also have links to sites of interest.

www.coolnurse.com/self-injury.htm
A website with information on cutting and self-injury. I learned a lot about cutting from the "Cool Nurse". There are stories from former cutters. The site does warn that it is intended to be informative but information may be found to be disturbing "trigger" memories in some people. I still recommend it because of the knowledge it provided me on cutting.

The have "Call to Action Alerts" which asks for voluteers to lobby their local Senators and Congressmen and asks them to co-sponsor bills that are coming up for vote. A very easy way for people to get involved and support SPAN!!!
