To the world you may be just one person, but to one person you may be the world... (Author unknown)

Brittany Marie,

My darling, baby girl, I am creating this site for you and the world.  I need to tell everyone who will listen about you and maybe, it may help one person.  The hole in my heart that emerged when you left me will never be filled.  You were my world, my life, and I miss you so much girl!!!

Your sister misses you so much too.  She can't understand why.  How does she tell your niece about the baby sis she lost.  All we can do is share memories, stories, and pictures of you.

Brittany, we need to teach the world that suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem.  There is no problem that can't be solved and suicide is not a solution.  Suicide just leaves so many unanswered questions.

I love you baby girl and not a minute of any day passes without you in my thoughts.  Thank you sweetie girl, for giving me the strength to carry on because life is a constant struggle without you.

Love you always and forever,

Mommy

"THE DASH"
copyright 1996 by Linda Ellis

I read of a reverend who stood to speak
at the funeral of a friend.
He referred to the dates on her tombstone
from the beginning...to the end.

He noted that first came the date of her birth
and spoke of the following date with tears.
But he said what mattered most of all
was the dash between those years.

For that dash represents all the time
that she spent alive on earth.
And now only those who loved her
know what that little line is worth.

For it matters not, how much we own;
the cars...the house...the cash.
What matters is how we live and love
and how we spend our dash.

So think about this long and hard.
Are there things you'd like to change?
For you never know how much time is left.
You could be at dash mid-range.

If we could just slow down enough
to consider what's true and real
and always try to understand
the way other people feel.

And be less quick to anger
and show appreciation more
and love the people in our lives
like we've never loved before.

If we treat each other with respect
and more often wear a smile...
remembering that this special dash
might only last a little while.

So when your eulogy is being read
with your life's actions to rehash,
would you be proud of the things they say
about how you spent your dash?

"IN THE END"

This song by Linkin' Park opened Brittany's funeral ceremony.  The more times I hear it and listen to the lyrics, I can begin to understand the pain and heartache that teens experience.  For you my girl.....I am trying to understand.

In The End

One thing / I don’t know why
It doesn’t even matter how hard you try
Keep that in mind / I designed this rhyme
To explain in due time
All I know
time is a valuable thing
Watch it fly by as the pendulum swings
Watch it count down to the end of the day
The clock ticks life away
It’s so unreal
Didn’t look out below
Watch the time go right out the window
Trying to hold on / but didn’t even know
Wasted it all just to
Watch you go
I kept everything inside and even though I tried / it all fell apart
What it meant to me / will eventually / be a memory / of a time when I tried so hard

And got so far
But in the end
It doesn't even matter
I had to fall
To lose it all
But in the end
It doesn't even matter

One thing / I don’t know why
It doesn’t even matter how hard you try
Keep that in mind / I designed this rhyme
To remind myself how
I tried so hard
In spite of the way you were mocking me
Acting like I was part of your property
Remembering all the times you fought with me
I’m surprised it got so (far)
Things aren’t the way they were before
You wouldn’t even recognize me anymore
Not that you knew me back then
But it all comes back to me
In the end
You kept everything inside and even though I tried / it all fell apart
What it meant to me / will eventually / be a memory / of a time when I
I tried so hard

And got so far
But in the end
It doesn’t even matter
I had to fall
To lose it all
But in the end
It doesn’t even matter

I’ve put my trust in you
Pushed as far as I can go
And for all this
There’s only one thing you should know
I’ve put my trust in you
Pushed as far as I can go
And for all this
There’s only one thing you should know
I tried so hard
And got so far
But in the end
It doesn’t even matter
I had to fall
To lose it all
But in the end
It doesn’t even matter

What Linkin' Park states best is "in the end, it doesn't even matter"  because Brittany, like many others, "tried so hard".
